Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) Student Exchange Program at Lakehead University Academic Year 2023 – 2024

IU-VNU would like to announce the Student Exchange Program at Lakehead University, Canada in the academic year 2023 – 2024. Applicants may apply for Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED). This program opens for undergraduate/post graduate candidates.

Notes:

  • Lakehead University will nominate 1-2 candidates from IU-VNU to the SEED Committee.
  • It is possible that a student receives admission for the exchange program at Lakehead University, but is unsuccessful in their SEED scholarship application.
  1. Application package:

Required documents for Student Exchange Program in Canada includes:

  • Application form (download at //cim.jailike.com/outbound-download/);
  • CV in English;
  • 02 Official transcripts in scale 4 and scale 100 (candidates request at the Office of Academic Affairs/Graduate Affairs);
  • Scanned copy of Passport information page (valid at least 12 months);
  • Letter of proof of full-time enrolment from home institution (CIM will support eligible candidates with this document);
  • Valid proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL).

Other required documents for candidates applying for SEED scholarship:

  • Letter of recommendation from home institution (maximum one page):
    • on official letterhead including IU-VNU logo and information (download at );
    • dated within the last six months;
    • written and signed by the candidate’s instructor, or professor at IU-VNU;
    • explains the nature of study or research to be undertaken in Canada and how the home institution will benefit from this scholarship program;
    • describe how the SEED scholarship impacts the candidate’s future study and goals.
  • Letter of intent (maximum one page):
    • explain the nature of studies or research to be undertaken;
    • provide rationale for study in Canada and at Lakehead University, program and how the proposed program of study or research will relate to your future career;
    • explain how undertaking study or research in Canada will empower the student to apply their learning to address the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development;
    • explain how they intend to use their learning to help combat poverty and narrow the development gap in the ASEAN region in their future career; and
    • identify the (SDG) their proposed study or research in Canada is aligned with and will contribute to.
    • provide an explanation of how their learning in Canada will help to combat poverty in their home country.
  • A list of 3-4 Lakehead University courses the applicant is interested in taking. Please fill this information on page 3 of the SEED Application form (*).
  • Signed privacy notice statement (found at this ).
  1. How to submit application:
  • Please submit your application to the Center for International Mobility (CIM) via email [email protected] with the subject [Lakehead SEED 23-24] Full name – Student ID.
  • For each document file, please save it in PDF format and name as Full name – Type of document. For example: Nguyen Van A – Transcript of record (Scale 100).
  • Application deadline: please submit your application before 6PM, 24 February 2023 (Friday).
